Sean carrying a baby around in the hospital nursery room.

Sean and Ryan making dinner at grandma's kitchen.

Ryan took carrying for the baby very seriously. First he put the baby in a crib all alone.

Then he put him in the crib with this other baby. Maybe that felt more right to Ry Guy.

Sean playing in the ute section.

Alex trying his luck with the Excalibur.

Andrew created his crest.

Sean wanted to color his letters.

Alex's return home

Upon Alex's return home, one little guy in particular was VERY happy to see him! Sean spent a good five minutes with Alex -- giving hugs and kisses galore. The big guy was gone for more than a week! Behind them, Andrew is showing Alex the welcome home sign he made with me that Ryan and Sean tore in two.

Sean's personality

So if you read yesterday's email, you know Ryan had kindermusik.

While Ryan and I were playing, Alex and Andrew went to big kids day care. Seany had to go to baby day care. In baby day care, they play with toys, have a snack and cuddle for a nap. He usually doesn't like my leaving but has fun none the less.

So he didn't even squawk when I left. Just immediately cuddled his provider. She said he did he best time away from me ever. I thought, "cool!"

Sean wouldn't let me out of his sight the rest of the day. Preferably, he would be in my arms. Normally, he's my independent adventurer. Not yesterday.

So this morning, when I got them out of their cribs. I got up early to do some chores and figuring I'd be free for at least 30 minutes. I could devote that to Sean. He was so back to normal, after his 10 minutes of love, he took off to play with his brothers, swinging by the table occasionally to grab a bite on the go!

Ryan's personality

To give you an idea of Ryan's personality, I thought I'd tell you about yesterday and today.

Yesterday
In the morning, I was doing Sean's diaper change first. Sean decided to run around bottomless and sit 10 feet away from me. "Sean, get back here. Seany, I have to put your diaper on you."

Sean giggled.

So, Ryan went over to him. Ryan said, "Ga, Ga, Ga..." Ryan pointed at me. And when all that failed.

Sean continued to giggle.

Ryan, lifted Sean at the shoulder and tugged him back into diaper changing position.

One would think, Ryan would be very still and well behaved during his own diaper change. One would be wrong. Very, very wrong.

Ryan took off once his diaper was off. Ryan ran aimlessly through the house taunting me. Begging to be chased by Sean, by Alex, by Andrew, by anybody to make his diaper change oh, so much more fun.

Break to bath time. Andrew and I were outside watering. Alex went for a bike ride with some neighbors. Mark having bathed both babies asks, "So who wants to get out first."
Ryan pointed at Sean. And then just to make sure Daddy got the message, gave Sean a little shove forward.

Today
Ryan had kindermusik. Toddlers, music, toys, whats not to like? His brothers have to go to sibling care. So he spends the whole time pretending he can't shake a bell, doesn't like pudding, and suddenly the kid can't dance. This is the same kid who upon hearing the Cars CD (Andy's favorite music) spreads his legs and sways from side to side pointing his fingers out, in some kind of disco move he some how picked up.

Quick wrap up of the trip

We're home from California -- Mark's happy to have most of us back! Man that was a tiring trip. Between Mark's ban of binkies, Andrew constant temper trantrums, and sleepless nights with Ryan flopping around me -- I'm amazed I survived.

We visited with Mark's grandparents. Alex LOVED the creek even trying to make a dam in the final 20 minutes we were out there.

Then we headed to Mark's parents where I spent our nights and many days trying to keep the house in tack and not let the twix break things. Ending the trip with a bbq with neighbors and family. Mark's aunt and uncle and their new puppy, Mark's former neighbors, cousins, and his brother and niece. Mark was especially missed that day. The kids especially loved the hot tub. The babies liked floating and kicking their legs. Alex & Andy 'practiced' their swimming skills.

We spent some fun days with my parents -- Gilroy Gardens, the Oakland Zoo, and a couple parks. We visited with my grandma and uncle. Carolena hung out with us when she could. At Gilroy Gardens, Sean got his head stuck between bars. I figured if it went through, it would come out. So after many tries, lifting him and tugging against the bars, his head came out. Sean babbled the whole time, then went to try it again!

Home for the 4th the three youngest Mark and I went to see Ratatouille and then to lunch! Very cute movie. A first for Andy and the twix -- all were very well behaved. That night after the twix went to bed -- Andy got to do fireworks and sparklers and then we watched the fire works across the Utah Valley from the back yard! Pretty nice view -- I'll miss that next year
.

Father's Day 2007

Mark with his four boys -- Andrew, Sean, Ryan, and Alex.

This is how he opened every gift -- 4 little bodies crowded around in excitement!

Fun at Kennedy Park in Hayward

Alex took care of himself -- very proudly!
Andrew and Sean with Papa enjoyed the ride.
Andrew rode ALL 3 ponies -- very stinky.
Alex is just about ready for a real horse, I think.
