Apparently, the cub scouts have an annual 'banquet' where the parents bring a pot-luck dinner. We were down for a veggie tray. Alex reminded me everyday we needed to bring the veggie tray. After pricing the veggies and dip, I realized that we would save money by purchasing a premade one in the produce section. Crazy isn't it?
We brought the tray. Alex noticed a stack of trays and said that I brought the wrong item. As I was saying, "You're paper said, veggie tray." Another mom said, "Yes, that's right and whisked it away."
Dinner was sloppy joes, veggies (which all 6 trays were all wiped out), chips, and then rootbeer floats for dessert.
Ryan ate: 25 carrots, 100 chips, and his root beer float.
Sean ate: 15 carrots, 3 tbsp of ranch dip, 100 chips, and his root beer float.
Andrew ate: 4.5 carrots, 1 hamburger bun, 380 chips, and 1.5 rootbeer floats.
Alex ate: 9 carrots, 1 tsp dip, 10 chips, 3 sloppy joes, and his rootbeer float.
Alex earned 2 more belt loops and is on his way to some sports pins. He also got a bag of snickers for showing up in his uniform with his book.
Alex's den preformed jokes. Each boy ran in told his joke and ran out. Alex got lots of laughter, but that was really for his winning smile at the end (he was delighted he made it through stammer free and remembered all the words). The den younger than his preformed the ABCs of America. My favorite 'm,' 4 of them put their faces into a poster of Mt Rushmore and scooting back and forth. Andrew loved 'i,' Indiana Jones!
