The Nose Story

I've been attempting to pack all day. First, there was getting Alex off to school. Upon our return home, I needed (really, really needed) a second cup of coffee. After finishing my coffee, I was prepared to face the packing. SHOOT! Left a load of clothes I know the chicklets will want in the washer. Put off packing until done.

Check email, check facebook, found new china closet, email link to Mark, email seller, hope for best. Then I did the dishes. Then I cleaned up a Seany mess. Then we needed a couple items for our trip -- off to Wally World. Returned. Can definitely pack now, right? NO! Sean is covered in green and some kind of sugar substance. Might as well get the baths done first.

Finished the baths. Time to make their lunch, they can wait! Ryan's clawing the pantry door. Can't wait. Lunch first then packing.

Clothes are dry-ish. Put some back in dryer. Start packing with the twix. Finish the twix, put case by laundry room door. "Sean! DO NOT TOUCH THIS CASE!" Get Alex and Andrew's case out, is that? where? "Sean! PUT THAT CASE BACK! AND DO NOT TOUCH IT AGAIN, YOU SCRATCHED THE WALL UP!" Take case out to mini-van to avoid further scratching.

Put Alex and Andrew's case on bed. Start gathering items Andrew will wear. "Ryan, no monkeys jumping on the bed."

"OK! Mom!" He cries as he goes flying off and into nose dives (seriously it was his nose) into the corner of the night stand. He screams as blood pours out of his nose. It poured. Lots. V. Gross.

Call the doctor. It must be check out. Off to the doctor's we go. Stop and pick up Alex. Diagnosis: Can't breath through one side, very swollen in there. Might need to go to ENT. Wait 'til we return to do xray as too swollen to get a good picture today. Have new laundry list of to dos in nose care department. Really.

Return home. Gonna pack Alex up first thing. Yeah, not happening ALL the kids are out enjoying the nice weather. Alex joins the group, haven't seen him since. Andrew asks to go out and play with his girl friends, lost him too.

Now still not packing in favor of writing this post. Ryan almost fell down twice, everytime he moves afraid he'll knock his nose and have another bleed. Put on tv so he'll sit still for a while. Poor kid, first nice nice day and I'm making him sit in front of the tube for fear of another owie.

His nose hurts a lot, but looks more normal and we're following treatment instructions.

We're still not done packing, I still have the bloody clothes on, and I'm v. stressed.

All will be done by the time we hit the road tomorrow, but can't get the tension level down.
