Vegas

We had a great trip with Mark's parents in Vegas.

Low point: CRAPPY HOTEL (but it was free). On Paradise Road, let me tell you that place was NO paradise -- broken outlets, loose outlets, no breakfast (advertised a breakfast), closed pool (advertised an OPEN pool). Wyndham the company through which we got the free hotel stay, had the gall to suggest we go to a 'time share' deal as we were VIPs. If we were VIPs how do they treat their regular folks?

Saturday night: We ate a the Circus Circus Buffet.

Sunday: We went to the Children's Discovery Musuem. I guess I was expecting a bit more because of the hype. But Mark and the chicklets LOVED it. They climbed in the tot tunnel (for 2 seconds), dressed as fireman, flew an airplane, visited Clifford's (the big red dog) home and Andrew delivered mail to all the characters. Then we went to the M&M World. So fun! They have a 10 minute 3-D movie. Everything you ever wanted in with an M&M on it... Pat and Cathy got each boy 2 gifts and Mark and I let them each pick their own M&Ms. They have all the colors you can imagine along a wall. Then we took them to an arcade downstairs and they played all variety of video games for a couple hours.

Monday: We checked out the Flamingo's "wildlife" habitat. Glorified gardens, the chicklets loved exploring and running along the various pathways. Imagine yourself less than 3 feet tall with branches and grass over your head, it would feel like a jungle to you too. Next we headed to the VERY disappointing chocolate factory -- couldn't see what they were doing, stingy with the samples, and highly overpriced ($2 for one little candy) and their cactus gardens (which we obviously didn't want to hang out in. We went to the older outlets, very fun. Fun stuff to look at, rides for the kids, cool stores, etc. While the twix slept, Cathy and I took Alex and Andrew to Circus Circus, where Andrew was unhappy with every game (unless he won). That night, we checked out Treasure Island and the Mirage -- the kids loved looking at the ships and then the shops at Ceasars.

Tuesday: We did our booze run. Then we spent some time at the Lion Habitat in the MGM. Everyone should do the Lion Habitat. The young lion we saw walked over our heads, played with his trainers and basically showed off for the crowd. Very cool. And then we hit the road to come home.

Mark and I would love to go back, just the 2 of us. Alex and Andrew want us to move to Vegas.
