Alex isn't sure

Alex can't quite decide if there's a Santa or not. Today when it was time to make Santa gifts, he said, "Mommy, do you believe in Santa?"

Eyes cast down, (never good at lying to my chicklets) "Yes, Alex. How else would all those gifts turn up?"

He responded with, "Well Mommy, there are all the gifts from Uncle Adam & Carrie, Auntie Erin and Geoff, Uncle Steve, Nona and Papa, Grandma and Poppa, and then Mommy, there is YOU!"

"What do you mean?"

"You, Mommy. You spend a lot of time collecting things, going shopping, down in the basement wrapping things. You seem to always know what to suggest for my list on Christmas Eve that Santa will bring."

I said, "Santa's a friend of mine. Haven't I mentioned that before?"

Suspicious, he exclaimed, "That's another thing! HOW? IS? IT? That you are friends with a man who never calls or emails you?"

I said, "Alex, woman have been asking themselves those very same questions for years."

"Huh?"
